I am grateful to be among the three local artists selected to have my work displayed in this public arts exhibit for the new Terminal 6 at JFK.
I am humbled that our names and work will be associated with great artists like, Charles Gaines, Kambui Olujimi, and Teresita Fernandez, just a mention a few who will have perminant exhibits in the space.
As the Exhibitions and Gallery Manager at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, I had the pleasure of working with Associated Artists of Pittsburgh on their exhibition “The Industry of Art” which was curated by Eric Shiner the President of Powerhouse Arts in New York. See Eric’s opening comments this past Summer.
SUNDAY SEP 13, I was part of the opening for these exciting exhbitions. Working with curator and Latin artist Tamavis Santiago for months to plan, organize, collect, and install work from New York, Puerto Rico, and various parts of the US, we put together a beautiful and powerful celebration of art and culture. Unfortunately the exhibition has been interrupted by a devastating fire that destroyed the adjacent warehouse to BWAC Gallery in Red Hook. This clip shows part of that celebration.
